The Afghanistan Journalists Center (AFJC) condemns insulting and beating of Hasht-e-Subh reporter, Akbar Rustami by officers of Kabul Traffic Department in strongest terms and call on the Ministry of interior to seriously pursue the case.
Mr. Rustami said the incident happened while he was interviewing some people about corruption in the mentioned department on Saturday 11 am. I was also detained and questioned at Traffic Department and released after an hour, he added.
AFJC calls on the Afghan ministry of interior to ensure the freedom of media activities by ensuring security and supporting reporters' rights by holding the violators accountable for their acts.
